Hi Guy`s!

I´m thinking to buy something new to replace my bridge camera, and I have my attention in this 3 Relfex:

Sony Alpha A230; Nikon D300; Canon 1000D, all with 18/55 lenses.

If anyone have any tip, please I appreciated.:)
Thanks!
Pedro.

Hi Marc and thank you so much for the reply:)

Is Nikon D3000 NOT D300.

The Nikon D3000 is less 16 euros than Canon:) no problem with that.
I will buy the Nikon for sure.
Thanks about website.

The Nikon D90 is great choise, but is very expensive;)

I always loved the Nikon cameras, just feels and sounds more sturdy then the Cannon. Though I am sure there are a ton of loyal Cannon users I just never felt comfortable with one. I've got the Nikon D60 now, a great camera for the money. Nikons seem easier to use as well on basic settings. The D3000 looks like an awesome camera, and be the one I'd suggest!

Same for me, I have a Nikon D60 and I am very happy...I think when you get on this level is the Lens that will make the different not really the Camera itself.

Go for Nikon D3000

Anders, thanks mate for your opinion, much appreciated.:)

Rodrigo, muito obrigado pela dica!:)
Abraço,
Pedro.

As a Canon man, everyone's entitled to their opinion!

Bottom line is that you will love whichever one you get! I'm on my second Canon DSLR and continue to be amazed at what's possible. I'd be saying the same if I'd have bought a Nikon.

But I had the 18-55mm lens originally - It's OK but possibly not the best for miniature photography

Hi Rob!

I have under my sight:) Canon Rebel (1000d) and Nikon (D40), both used, I dont know yet wich I gonna bought, but, if fail with this two, I will buy Nikon D3000 (new) only the body, and choose the lens late.
Thanks for posting!

Hi Pedro

I thought of a consideration.....The 1000D Has "liveview" through the LCD panel - I have that on my new Canon camera and at first thought it was a bit of a gimmick - however, for composing a photo of a miniature I find it very useful indeed - neither the D40 or D3000 has this feature from what I can see. Not trying to sway you, just offering my experience!

worth reading this paage of the review as it does state it's limitations!

Hi Rob and many thanks again(y)

everything is possible, the Rebel 1000D who is selling is a work colleague, but the camera is from a new girlfriend from Brazil and I do not know where it comes from:confused:.
Its 150 euros without lens and battery, the camera is fully functional I take some shots yesterday:)
What you think?
Appreciated,
Pedro.

Any lens advise? short one:)

I agree. I have Nikon D 80 with Nikkor 18-70 mm. You can check some of my threads in v bench if you want - all photos of my minis were taken with use of single lamp. I also use Paint.net software, but only for colour correction
This way I achived quality thats is good enough for me :).

What you think?

Thanks everybody!

That´s it, I bought today to my work colleague the Canon Rebel XS, it is the 1000d in Europe I think?!
Fully functional so far:D, have signs of use but is in good shape and I can pay in 3 times. I dont know the correct word for that:(
150 euros(y)

Cheers,
Pedro.
