Which Vallejo Basecolor For Us Cavalry/civil War Pants?

Hello,
I haven't been around for a while but am thinking about restarting figure painting now winter is coming around soon.

Could anybody tell me which Vallejo color blue is a good basecolor for US Cavalry / Civil war Union troops pants? During my vacation I started on a figure used a much yo bright light blue.
Hope anybody can help me along a bit.

If you don't have something suitable in the bottle just mix a lot of white with a little of one of your darker blues, then dull it down a smidge of something (a flesh colour will generally work well for this, long as it's not too yellow).

Doing it this way also makes it easier to create the shadow colours since you'd base the mixes for them on the same two starting colours, just with more blue. Dull these mixtures down with a touch of an earth (reddish or brown, either one can work), or a little grey of the same value.
