Can anyone share with me any info on miniature castings of WWII Australians in No. Africa? Not familiar with what's available and curious to learn the "lay of the land" Appreciate everyone's time. Prefer bigger figure 54mm-75mm-90mm. But not opposed to 1/35th scale if quality is good!

Mike, Really appreciate your post mate! (y) am reading The Longest Siege, Tobruk by Robert Lyman. Finding a number of antidotes that just amaze the heck out of me on Aussies bravery in No. Africa. Well aware of their exploits in WWI and Burma, but never really read much on No. Africa until now. Dude, attacking Kraut tanks with metal fence post rods, jamming them in the track links, then stuffing a home made bomb down the hatch. That is very up close and personal. And facing the Afrika Korps with Enfields, Brens and a few antitank weapons against the Krauts firepower. Amazing stuff! Just want to find a couple figures that I can add to my No. Africa collection. Do honor to the boys from down under! Right now I have a couple figures and busts of Afrika Korps, some Brits and a few Italians. Need some Aussies to balance it all out;)

Wish I had bought those old Verlinden Kits of Aussies back in the day!

I found a figure in 54mm of an Aussie from Benito Miniatures. Have not purchased any of their kits. Can anyone give me some feedback please?

Thanks, Terry

Hi Terry
If you mean this one.
He’s from Kokoda trail where the desert Aussies went after Nth Africa. You can tell by US canvas gaiters. Benieto Miniatures are good quality though in white metal, bit harder to work with.

Yep ANZACs in Western Desert we’re scrappers mate - check out the 28th Māori Battalion. If you want some Aussies from these two fit the bill. I’ve got them & they are beauts. Poses based on photos as these guys were notorious scroungers.

Mike the Kiwi, You are a wealth of info my friend! (y) Would gladly share a pint with you! Yea, the pictured figures look cool! Like the LRDG as well. Have the LRDG 75mm figure done by Young Miniatures a few years back. Love the fact, he is carrying an older model of a Thompson. Thanks also for the tip on Benito. I found one on E-Bay. Hope to find a 54mm Bren Gun in spare box to add to a dugout scene.

Appreciate your time and suggestions!
