This is an old 1/12 kit from La Ruota del Tempo, now defunct., which Eddy kindly let me have from his stash 2 years ago. I don’t think he had even opened it, t was mint! To be honest it’s a poor casting with lots of pin holes and misformed and missing rivets. I decided to clean them all off and replace them and redrill the breaths on the great helm at the same time.

All in acrylics. The Teutonic Knights rode Fresians as destriers which are always black to dark grey apart from a rare few which are reddish brown. I originally was going to paint the horse as a ‘red’ but in the end thought that a very dark grey suited the palette more. Only Hochmeisters we’re allowed to display personal heraldry as well as the Teutonic cross, you can just see Kniprodes family crest quartered on the shield.

Base from Richard at Oakwood, plate from Nameit!

Cheers

Neil

Hi Neil

Great to see you posting , not a piece I can remember

That's a nice set , well painted and a good choice with the horse colour it works well and the rework on the helmet

What metallics do you use ?

Like the display idea as well

Why not enter something into FOTM and Vignette & Diorama Competitions as well

Thanks for sharing

Happy benchtime

Thanks all

Kev

It wasn’t available for very long, it released at Euro a few years ago, they produced a couple of other busts which weren’t as good but went bump very quickly. I put a wanted on PF 2 years ago and Eddy kindly let me have his.

I use Vallejo metal color, as in the photo through the airbrush and have recently moved to S75 for brush work, really like them both. The S75s seem to work better with some glaze medium added.

I have done well in the monthly comp in the past, I may put something in again in the future. I don’t make vignettes or dioramas though.

Cheers
