Hello...

RPmodels have the pleasure to present the first WIP´s from Harald Hardrada...

Its the year of 1038 AD. Harald Hardrada have instructions from the King of Byzancitium. Harald Hardrada is the Commander of the Varangian Guard and he have to conquer the Sicily Island. The Seracens have castles and strongholds...

Harald have to conquer some castles and he have to used many strategies to conquer the castles. But the are one story that catch my attention... and I LOVE the Story... One of the Saracens Castles was a big Strongold, with big and strong defences. And another thing, the castle have many food and water, so the siege it will be very big... In the next months, Harald observe every day the castle... One day he observed there are some birds that dis the nest in the roof of the houses of the castle... And the birds come to river to drink water... Harald made a plan... Catch the birds, put fire in the legs of the birds, and the birds because of the danger, flew to the security of the nests... And the castle start burning and the Saracens surrendered to Harald... This is a BIG STORY...

For many the Varangian Guard was one Elite Troop in Ancient World...

This is the first WIPs, there are many to do and to improve... Once again, I ask you help to develop a better figure and told this story... What you see is Harald put fire in the bird, and the bird will fly to the security of the nest.... Comments, ideas, critics, opinions are always welcome...

I already have the Roger Ranger and Lt Cairns with me, and in a few days I will lauch them... I just said that, because the details are unbalievable... Something of the other world... And If this because in the past, many people helped me in thus task... and once again I ask you help, to grow and develop better figures...

Thank you for all of you...
With best regards

Agree. Looks still a bit stiff at the moment. I also wouldn't hold a torch so close to my body.
But it's a great subject matter.

Hello Hugo,

Another exciting idea from your creative imagination.
I am not a specialist, but I am wondering if as a
Dark ages Varangian and also a veteran warrior,
if he would he wear a few arm rings or torcs signifying his combat victories, rather than the ornament on his left bicep?
I am not being critical, i am simply wondering.

Very best wishes

Paul.

Heck of a story Hugo!
Though I'm not sure it will find many friends among RSPCA followers
I'd recommend leaning forward figure too with right arm outstretched to have torch just below crow's (?) belly.
Just a instant below feathers catch alight.
After describing this not sure I would paint But sounds like a brilliant tactic to breach a siege.

Does this help?

Stay safe
Mike

Hello Mr. Paul...

Thank you for the comment...

I like your idea... But this is very in beginnig... There are many details to do, a shield to put on and a long axe to put too...

The armor is very rich, because the King of Bizantim want the elite troop have the best weapons and armor, and because of that they have the best...

Thank you for everthing and we will keep in touch...

Hello Mr. Mike...

Thank you for your comment.

Sorry my ignorance... RSPCA followers?

I will put the arm of with torch in a differnt angle, for put the figure with more realism and detail...

Im very unhappy because you wont paint the figure... maybe when you see the final work, you can change ideas... and paint the figure...

Every help is good Mr. Mike... And after I listen your ideas, comments, Ive have to check the arm with torch and give him a different angle... But I can forget the realism, a dynamic pose and the history... Ive to have everthing in mind...

Once again, Thank you Sir.

Only reason wouldn't paint is focus on ANZAC figures for me now Hugo.
Like your creativeness & effort to get things right.

Stay safe,
