Hi everyone,

I was wondering where everyone gets there wooden display bases from. My local store used to sell them but doesn't any more.

Thanks,
Jake

I've gotten my last few from Greg Stewart of Epic Designs. He makes a very nice product that won't break the bank.

S&T Products; You can view their bases on Colorado Miniatures website.
The bases are of high quality and designs.

I have to agree with John. Greg makes some nice bases at reasonable prices. Great customer services.

No website that I know of. Here is his email.

IMHO, the "Cadillac" (back when that meant something! :) ) of bases are those made by Ken Thomas. He does not have a website, but does take phone orders. Bases are pricey, but very much worth it. Not sure if he ships out of the US.

The bases are custom made in many sizes and styles, out of selected hardwoods like rose, burl and oak. Wax polished. Really gorgeous stuff.

Hi Jake,

I actually make my own base from 2x2 oak that can be purchased from your local home improvement store in the lumber department. I cut the wood to the desired length with a miter saw, and cut 45 degree angles for the bottom trim and glue to the pedestal. Once dried i sand everything smooth, stain, and urethane. For me making the base is as important as creating the figure and ground work. You'll also save alot of money! Hope this helps. James.
