Yes, I know, there was/is a thread for this...but from 2004? 95% of the replies are 10 years or older.
Let's post some pictures of our our own personal space, where we relax with our hobby. Maybe describe how you work or why it is setup that way. I always enjoy talking/reading shop!
Here is mine:
View of my corner of the living room. Computer desk no-one was using as they all have laptops and tablets now.
Main work area - Brush holder was an old and little used remote caddie. I added some wood and drilled some holes:
Shelves - I re-purposed a shot glass shelf I had. Not the greatest for paint bottles as almost half the shelves are too short for Reaper/Vallejo squeeze bottles. I came up with another system for those. Mail box, I ordered some years ago to get rid of the paper clutter in the kitchen, and my wife hated it, so it was regulated to my bedroom until now. (yes, I label everything...a bit OCD)
Various shelves house my supplies - in tower area of desk are my hand tools, red lid Pyrex containers are my wet pallets. I like having small dedicated pallets, for example, one for metallic, one for flesh and so on.
Rolling plastic case - sculpting/bits/resins/scenery/scenery craft paints, etc. I keep my reaper paint cases within reach here(on top)
I'm still trying to find my painting style. I started with a small set of Vallejo game color paints. I wasn't too impressed with their chalkiness and desire to separate. I picked up some reaper triads and their HD paint line. This is a good deal (you basically get the case for free) I decided I like that system(paints as well as the storage system) and have since purchased an additional case and added some scale 75 sets
A tip I got from watching the "pegaso girl" miniature mentor video, the artist used Liquitex artist tube acrylics. The good ones have a lot of similar qualities in common with oils. I really like the vibrant colors and sheen for skin and horses. I'm addicted to them now and they have become part of my painting style. I went crazy at Micheal's last weekend, added another 15 tubes during one of their 50% off sales!
Of course, you need a computer near-by for reference:
some things "in queue"
Hope everyone enjoyed looking. Now post yours!!...please!
