I very curious to know how the black green is used in the flesh mixes. I don't think I've ever seen that particular color used before.
Looks like everybody had a good time.

It's being mixd with deep red cadmium to create a raw umber-like color for deep shadows.

Cheers,
Doug

#2....I have to agree with Chris. I had a blast! It was a pleasure meeting new friends and seeing old ones. I have to say that I really, REALLY, learned a lot! My hat off to Gordy and Fernando! Thanks so much! Fernando, thanks so much for your time and the extra things that you showed me to help take my work up a level.(y)

Absolutely awesome experience!!! Well planned with a fantastic instructor and a great group of guys!!! I learned an immense amount of information the last three days and really improved my skills. Fernando was very patient
and taught us how to really look at color in a new way.

If you missed this one make sure you can attend the next one as you won't regret it!!!

Thanks for an awesome time!!!

Bill

#15 sounding off...

Stuck back home on a quiet holiday with a partially painted figure and not one bottle of acrylic paint to my name! It's maddening!

Seriously, it was a blast! Got over my fear of acrylic painting and learned some really cool techniques. Huge round of applause to Gordy and Fernando for all their efforts in coodinating this event, as well as, Chuck and Chris for their hospitality and a gawdawful quantities of food! And to Alex for the comic relief during the very quiet painting sessions.(y) And, also to all the companies who donated kits, materials, door prizes, bases, etc. - wow - your contributions just made this workshop that much better! Kudos to you all!

Met lots of new friends and can't wait to see the next Mike Meehan vignette titled "La hearder de los gatos".

When's the next one????

Cheers to all,
Doug

I woke up this morning and wanted to go for another eight hours of workshop. Unfortunately, I realized it's over.

What a great time! First of all a big THANK YOU to Fernando, Gordy and Alex as well as the sponsors.

Such a pleasure to meet you all. One of my best modeling experience up to date. I am so thankful I could see Fernando handling the acrylics paints on live as well as ask him every question I could think of. Fernando's willingness to share his techniques is endless.

This workshop has taught me a lot. Thank you again for the opportunity you gave us.
