OK, I made my reservation a few minutes ago. Not very cheap but I can't pass on this one. Not no way not no how. Taking for granted of course I'll still be in the U.S. in 2005. Not likely but who knows? I'd rather have to cancel my reservation than try to find one later on.

I hope you got the $135 rate. Normal rate starts at $250 per night.

I suspect the $135 rate there will be better spent than the $129 rate at Valley Forge. Great show- crappiest hotel in the universe.

Yes Lou, I did get the show rate. It did take a little bit though as there were two languages spoken on the phone. Bostonian and Redneckeeze. Quite a challenge to translate one to the other and then back again  . But she (the woman helping me) made it through A OK.

I have trouble with Bostonian (real, hard core Bostonian) as well sometimes. When I first visited the site and saw a $429 rate for a "deluxe" room, I almost fell off my chair. I wondered if that included "entertainment" for that much a night.

Lou,
I've stayed at that hotel before and "nice" is a serious understatement. It's perfectly located within walking (or staggering) distance of many cool landmarks and attractions in downtown Boston. There's also a T station just around the corner, so the entire area is within easy reach. $135/night is definitely "cheap", especially for a 4th. of July weekend. The catch is going to be the airfare.

Hey guys. I also made my reservations a few days back. Even though , for us , it's going to be very expensive I'm looking forward to this trip. Especially that I know I'll be meeting all you guys there. It will take us a whole day to make it over but what the heck. Anybody with a private jet care to pick me up ?

I was just totaling up my "costs" for this show when I started figuring up the difference between driving and flying. Right now (On Travelocity and from Louisville KY.) it's about $240 for roundtrip tickets to Boston and back. Almost $100 cheaper than driving. I understand some of us have large displays but I'm almost tempted to do this. Man, it would save on the wear and tear from driving. In either case, if you (me) decide to fly, tickets aren't all that expensive right now and should stay in the general price range they are now for several more months to come. Just don't wait too long to get those reservations (travel and hotel) or you'll be coming here for updates of the show ;) .

this is awesome i cant wait for all you guys to come to boston i am really excited to meet everyone.thanks johnny oh and yes lou we speak a whole diffrent language in boston.its funny i went to california not to long ago and i felt like i need to have some one translate for me no one understood a thing i said lol

Those of you driving to the show could probably stay in a cheaper hotel outside the city the day before you arrive and the night after the show. You might save only $25-50/night, but that's money you can put toward another figure or two.

P.S. to Lou: When will you learn? NEVER stay at the MFCA show hotel! You can get a better room for half the price "off-base."

I'm lazy. I therefore prefer to pay to stay at the crummy MFCA hotel, stumble to an elevator at 4am and be in the same building than have to worry about how I'm getting back, driving and all that nonsense. I did that once in Atlanta (albeit for a better hotel) and I won't do it again.
