This question is probably directed more towards Bill Horan than any other but should you have the information, please pass it along. I just spent the better part of the morning going through the World Expo site (I didn't do it but registering on line is a breeze) and couldn't find a list of vendors/manufactures who are planning to attend. Now I know it's still early (it is 2005 now after all  ) but the Expo is now only 6 months away. I'm hoping plans as far as vendors/manufactures are finalized :( . I'm looking forward to being there. That is of course as long as Uncle Sam will leave me in country long enough. Also, I know and understand the show comittee's feelings towards special awards but will manufactures be allowed to give an award? If so, is there a list of special awards that will be presented?

I cannot leave without, once again, commenting on the courtesy and professionalism displayed by the Park Plaza employees. They truly make the Expo worth looking forward to alone just by their willingness to help (y) .

Thanks for your time,
Jim Patrick

The Atlanta vendors are awesome. Check out their list of almost 20 seminars!

With the IPMS Nats only two weeks after the World Expo, a few modelers may be making some difficult choices! Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on your point of view), there's not much overlap among each group's attendees.

Jim,

Thanks for your question. About the vendors for the show. Yes, as you noted, it is still early, but many tables and booths are already sold. I can't give you a complete listing of who all will be there at this time, as the vendors are still coming in. However, in a few months, we'll post a list of all the vendors who will be at the Expo. we expect the vendor area to be completely sold out within a couple of months.

All the usual vendors that you see at the major U.S. figure shows will be there, as well as many others.

Unfortunately, there will not be any special sponsored awards at the Expo, at least it isn't planned as of this moment. That would also include awards from manufacturers.

I'll also throw in a quick update on the room situation. Presently, there are over 1350 room nights booked for the Expo at the hotel. We have rooms still available in our block, and the final block will be revised in mid to late February. We cannot stress enough how important it is for attendees to book their rooms now! Once the block is sold out, there will not be any more rooms available, and to stay in a downtown Boston hotel will cost 2-3X the show rate!

I'm glad that you are impressed by the Park Plaza, as we certainly are as well! They are a treat to deal with, in every respect.

Barry
