Dear fellow Planeteers,

Just finished my latest project: the WW I German Zeppelin Commander by Model Cellar in scale 1/9 (appears more like 1/10 to me). I really like this bust for its simplicity. Great for practicing blending and color mixing. The Zeppelin commander was a great little project before I will soon start a much more ambitious and complex figure. Hope you like it. Let me know what you think.
Keep on painting

Hi Sven

Thanks for sharing this , a really nice non complicated sculpt which is as you say a good place to to blend ...

I do like the way the jacket blue has been done, the highlighting on the collar edges and the lining in the seams works well

Good work on the poloneck jumper as well as the flesh and the cap details

Why not enter a piece into Febs FOTM as well as voting in the previous months

I look forward to seeing the more complex next piece

Happy benchtime

Lovely piece, Sven; as well as the blues & the highlights, what I particularly like is the way you’ve painted the face - to me it looks as if it’s lit from below, as it would appear if the Captain was standing over the illuminated instrument dials in his Zeppelin gondola during a night flight. Very impressive & imaginative.
