Hi,

I searched (maybe not correctly) here for possible mixes of fieldgrey for the 120mm Verlinden's Kaiser but found none. Is there anybody that can help me?

Thanks.

Cheers.

I would go for a much lighter and smoother grey as it the Kaiser's uniform and it would have been custom fabric and tailoring.

its the kaiser, i am sure no one would tell him his uniform shade was wrong/ badger

Well it's an interesting piece
I remember painting it with Humbrol ( yes Humbrol ) almost 30 years ago
But as others already said : He is the Emperor, not standard issue, better fabric....

Bear in mind that Kaiser's uniforms were privatley tailored, so the discrepancy between tunic and trousers were probably nonexistent. On the other hand, maybe you could try to paint different shades of trousers, it would be a nice contrast.

it would be better to have some variation in the shade between jacket and trousers but not too much, and if you concentrate on the helmet and face, this will draw attention away from the uniform slightly. but i am sure you will do an excellent job of it./badger

Hi Paulo
I paint in oils and the colours I use are 3% black + 1% blue + 1% yellow + 6% white, these are mixed together to form a basic field grey, I add or remove yellow depending on how green / greyish I'm looking for
