Looks great as always Mike! I hope this will convince our 1/32th scale aeroplane modelling friends to invest more time in their figures...

Thanks for posting Gary.

Best wishes,

Marijn

Mike, It's a great figure. I've always admire the natural look to your work. Realism is a benchmark that is the goal for me, and your work is a perfect example.~Gary

Hello Mike,

and expression is maybe the most important goal in modelling to me, and your work is again a perfect example!

Best wishes,

Marijn

Hey thanks guys!! Its nice to know I still have fans out there, and talented ones at that!

Just for grins, here are pics of the original master for this figure. It is really a hodge podge. It is a rework of a SEATED pilot I did for a toy company. I simply adapted the torso to a standing pose. It saved me scads of work! The face is actually a portrait of John C. Waldron, commander of Torpedo Squadron VT-8 flying TBD Devastators which was completely wiped out at the battle of Midway.
That figure was yet another commission I did for a private party.

Being full time professional, I have learned to make the most of my projects! The Navy pilot has now stretched to a total of four different iterations!
