The badges were blackened brass Nap - like the colour of KRRC and other Rifle regiments. The puggaree, which was a band of cloth not the fluted form of later years one sees on some Great War models, was a dark khaki in colour but as Graham mentioned he took his reference from a colourised photo.

Beautiful work Graham! Thought he looked familiar. A favorite music album of mine.

Don't know if the picture is of Alan Jones, Nathan Lay, someone else listed on the cover or an actual soldier from the period. :)
