how is the umbrella supposed to stay in place ? on the original picture the walking cane is strapped on the suitcase, here : nothing.
while the whole fig is good, it's details like that that we shouldn't see.
one could say that we, modellers, could add the detail ... NO : because this is an umbrella, the sculpted folds won't fit any added strap
i have actually a similar problem with a fig from Nuts Planet ...

don't get me bad : i'm not bashing the company nor the sculpt, i just say that after all this hard work to get there : such missing detail is unwaited by potential customers.

Hi Guys

Certainly good to see a nurse depicted but IMO the sculptor shoukd have stuck to the image :

Headwear is not like the picture , no bows under her chin as well

Think it's a walking stick on her case rather than a umbrella

No waterbottle with the haversack

With the umbrella it has again my opinion a Mary Poppins feel

The sculpt is good and well done to the company just wish it was closer to the reference used

As Mike says it could be a nurse from any army....might look good with the nurse TW released if it was a smaller scale

Just my thoughts!

Nap

The sculpt on its own is very nice :) and I have no complaints other than the unfixed umbrella . But as Nap wrote, staying closer to the charming original would have elevated it to 100 % :woot: . Nothing can beat the Bayrischer Frauenverein Nr. 1 .

All very valuable arguments, but personally I like the figure as it is. At last we have a decent female figure in my favorite scale and what is more, she can represent a wide range of nationalities for the first half of the 20th century. Conclusion: I have to get one!

Cheers,
Pierre

BTW I have absolutely nothing against the Bayrischer Frauenverein Nr. 1.:)

Good female miniatures are few and far between, but while this can stand on its own, I wish it had the character of the photo subject..the mini runs dreadfully close to a Mary poppins clone..could be converted, but the face is not close enough..so, nice but no..

Thank you...and there was a series profiling some from Australia and New Zealand...Anzac Nurses...gritty bunch ...as must have been those this piece is based on...

An interesting and fascinating figure. Great to see a female subject and one where there if plenty of scope for the painter. I hope it does well.

Excellent figure I agree with Nap. I wish the sculptor would have stuck with the picture more. I liked the rounded more innocent look of the pic along with the bows, it gives off a distinct feel that the sculpt fails to capture. For the record it is an excellent sculpt! Soundly based on the picture.

Mainly it is great to see a female depicted as a human with clothes on. I don't know about you but most of the women I know or have known prefer clothes (and blankets, extra shirts, coats etcetera...they seem to be a bit sensitive to the cold ).

To put a couple of straps over the brolly should be the work of a couple of minutes. By not fixing the brolly in place, the modeller has a few more options. Personally I would like to see this in 90 & 120mm.
