I did already post a WIP thread about this young Waffen-SS machine gunner from Young miniatures.

Now he is finished, last one in this year.

As I said before in the other thread, there are some historical mistakes on the box-art of this figure.

One is the wrong pattern of the helmet cover. In this so-called blurred edge pattern, no helmet covers were produced.

Second is that the helmet cover is painted in spring camouflage, but looking close to the helmet cover it is clearly visible that this is the autumn side.
You can verify these facts in the superb book from Mike Beaver about the "camouflage Uniforms of the Waffen-SS", best reference book about this subject.
In an earlier collection of mine, I used to have three original artifacts of these helmet covers, which I also contributed to the book.

I thought that some might not understand what I mean, so I post some photos of a helmet cover of my earlier collection.

First You see three photos of the spring side of the cover, left, right and back

As You can see, the part where the spring is fixed to the clip to fix the cover to the helmet is not on this side of the cover. The clips with the hooks are fully visible.

For comparison, now the three photos of the autumn side, same cover

The piece of fabric to cover the spring mechanism to fix the cover to the helmet is only visible on the autumn side. The clips therefore are partially covered by the fabric. The "2" stamp in ink is a size stamp.
As far as it is know today, the covers existed in three sizes.

Another piece of my earlier collection was the smock in blurred edge pattern, which I used also as a reference for the bust.

Finally, this the book I am referring to.
If you own that book, look for Robert Noss, that's me.
