AJLaFleche
A Fixture
Probably not high on my to get list, but I love the little detail of the right breast pocket flap folded into the pocket. Wonderfully expressive face as well. Great sculpt; great painting.
Actually Carl asked about the insignia, I posted the reply that you quoted. Looks like a little surgery on the sleeves will be in order. 5 minutes of scraping with an Xacto will fix that right up.
And thanks for the pic, what a great likeness they have come up with, its about spot on.
Inspiration for the figure and his date of ranks

I don't see the rank insignia on his sleeve, and I don't know whether a Lt. Col. would still be manning a Panther tank while in command of a division, but cool figure nonetheless.
Want one
........
Thank you all, guys.
And Micheal Tse, I am a big fan of the Soviet Union and her warriors.
You will get what you want in next year. Please be patient
Thanks in advance, Ebroin!
Soviet Union subjects seriously deserve more outings. Whatever came out of it, no one can deny the epic, fatalist grace that went before.
Thank you all, guys.

He was promoted to SS-Obersturmbannfuhrer, or Lieutenant Colonel, on 30 January 1944. That's what my researches say.
Hi!
sorry but is incorrect, the passage from wikipedia that you mention:
"In June Sturmbannführer Max Wünsche was ordered to transfer to a new division forming in France, which later became the 12th SS Panzer Division Hitlerjugend (12th SS Panzer Division Hitler Youth), and take command of the 12th SS Panzer Regiment."
The photo from wikpedia as you see is from 1944 and the left rank on the jacket show the true of his rank.
