Dimitrios, Very nice painting thus far. Are you going to give the figure a little more highlighting?~Gary

Love the skin tones..........dark as they should be for someone outside most of his life. Excellent leathers too.

Tried to get some better pics this morning.Well this one is the closest to what i see infront of me.

dimitrios,
I think this photo shows off the figure nicely! I really like what you have achieved with the leathers. This shot gives a good matte impression of the paint as as well. Keep it up! Looking forward to seeing this guy finished.

Thanks Chris and Jay for the comments.I must admit that despite the fun this figure gives it will be long before i get to paint another 90mm figure.Sometimes it feals as if the surfaces are neverending.

Marc thank you for your comment.I am trying to gather some courage now to start painting the cape. Will post as soon as i have something worth posting!

Hi,

You are really one hell of a painter -and I really mean that. The leather work is simply BRILLIANT. Infact it looks so real I can smell the leather. I only wished I had your painting skills when it comes to lyour leather work. Any chance of telling us how you did it?

Kindest regards - have a nice day.

PS Would like to see more of your painting skills.

Great painting, leathers especially. Keep up the good work and please continue with the progressive photos of the figure- look forward to seeing the finished piece.
Scott

Donald,Scott thank you for your comments.you do me much honor.
Donald i ll try to explain (hope my english is understandable enough) the way the brown leather was done.First of all i paint with oils over acrylics. After priming, i basecoated with Andreas dark brown. Then applied a layer of Vandyke brown.(The consistency of that looks like enamels)After some waiting time and with a flat completely dry brush i took the excess of paint. Then after the paint was dry enough i applied some burt sienna for highlights. But because burt sienna is quite transparent you souldnt expect to see a great difference after applying. Then working wet on wet i highlighted with a mix of yellow ochre and titanium wite over the wet burnt sienna, getting this way this ornge leather hue.The rest was more about waiting and then applying more highlites.Finaly where shadows were neede i used vandyke brown with a bit of sepia to make it more opaque.
Well that's about it.I hope this could be of some help.
Best Regards
Dimitrios

Your painting on this figure is really marvellous. Despite the fact that 90mm are notthe easiest topaint - i just finished a vigniette of 2 of them !!! - the specific figure hassome points that need real attention . and you havw passed them all withthe best way .

Your leathers are very very nice and the flesh tone is brilliant. Waiting to see mre and thanks for explaining the leather technique.
