I'm slowly working away at the from Young.
Still loads to do but it's getting there.
All acrylics except the waist coat that's oils.(y)

Coming along nicely Carl. The leather effect in the vest is really effective. Good luck with tartan!

Pedro.

This is looking braw. I don't recall ever seeing this figure painted other than the box art.
I hope you keep to a fairly dark check, I really like what you've done so far and IMO a darker scheme adds to the impact.
Cheers
Derek

Good work Carl.
This is a real nice piece and you are getting the best out of Mate.
The top half is superb with the waistcoat and sporran looking spot on. I have always liked the way that deal with different textures and this fellow is no exception.
The frame work for the tartan is looking well and like Derick I hope that you keep it fairly dark and subtle.
Looking forward to your next steps Carl.....press on.
Cheers,
Keith

Hey Carl,

Looking nice. I like the color choice. I did this figure awhile back myself. Here are a few pictures, I hope you don't mind. One word of advice...the weapon on his shoulder has started to bend over time so if I did it again I would substitute the pile with a wire rod.

Thanks again folks.
Very nice Joe.
I was thinking of replacing the staff with a piece of brass, but though against it.
Wish I had now, I'll have to see how it goes.
Funnily enough I put a cut on the left knee too.;)
Cheers.(y)

Congrats on your appointment as moderator, Carl. I think. Answering to a pack of opinionated and often inebriated figure painters may be a bit of a task. Like what Hercules faced at the Augean stables. Wonderful do on the Highlander.

I agree, excellent paintwork Carl. That leather waistcoat looks great and the face is reaaly well done.
