Hi everyone. I found armadillo studios through the fantastic "buc wheat list" and immediately bought his first marvel zombies garage kit. here is a review for it:

Series: Marvel zombies
Character: Zombie Spiderman
Size: According to the website its 7.5" and 1/6 scale with 9 parts
Medium: Resin mixture (see below)

The kit arrived to me last week from mexico all wraped up in bubble wrap, but alas, mexico does not like shipping and some of the gigantic base got broken while in transit.

The kit is quite large and is incredibly detailed. Alot of work has been put into this figure.
Seam lines are almost non-existant, but unfortunately, they tend to obscure some details, so some re-detailing is required after seam removal. Luckily, this isn't such a huge set back - but the biggest problem is trying to decide what detail is supposed to missing (due to the spiderman suit being ripped and torn in places)

part placement is quite good in order to maximise painting potential. The kit has the ribs seperated from a open gash and the jaw for the skull has also been removed to allow for immense inner detail.
the arms of the kit have keys to assist with placement, but unfortunately, these are not the greatest and require sanding for a proper fit of the limbs.
Puttying will be required to fill in voids created by the casting process.

The biggest problem of this kit is its medium. It has been casted as a resin/chalk mixture. Anyone that has worked on this casdt before knows that it is pretty much impossible to work on, making fitting together the kit a absolute nightmare. On top of that, when things break (like the base during mailing) they literally sheer off.
and for some bizzare reason, the torso seems to have a red hue. I'm still trying to figure that one out.

So overall.... I'm quite disappointed with the kit. I'm really worried about dropping it or taking it out of the house for hobby shows. When you flick it, it sounds like a porcelin plate and would probably shatter like one too if it fell.

Thanks for the review Scott. I have had a few castings like this one and you sand and sand and it seems to take forever to sand down a seam line.
