Resin cap badge from spares box. Great piece.

None at all, quick green stuff for the cap badge. The figure could represent any Regiment involved in the conflict.

Nice job,Maurice has depicted the Cold weather Parka as worn by Guards in Falklands.The paras and Royal marines wore the arctic windproof smocks.The parkas are quite bulky in size and in famous photos of guards during the campaign some parkas look like they hang right down towards the knees.

My old comrade was attached 2SG during the conflict and has verified all aspects of the figure. The only challenge will be trying to liven up the mass of olive and green on the Argentine soldier.

I can verify your comment re. the DPM parkas, I was issued with one whilst serving with 20 Armd Bde in Germany in 1980, & they were one of the best bits of kit I ever had. Kept me nice & toasty warm during quite a few cold night stags in the woods on Spearpoint/Crusader 80. We were never issued the matching trousers & quilted liners the troops had in the Falklands though, there must have been a shortage of them at the time.

They were far superior to the old Olive Green ones we previously had (which had been around since Korea!), & the thing most guys liked about them was they still had the wire stiffener cowl around the hood, so when you were bored on stag you could fold them into all kinds of interesting shapes - I remember seeing quite a few folded into star shapes, triangles etc. first thing in the morning! Looked like some of the masks Peter Gabriel used to wear in his Genesis days........
