Worked on a 1/72 scale for five years, paper, cardboard and porexpan have been used, this model represents the city of Orihuela in the province of Alicante (Spain), in the year 718 of our lord. Both the Arab society of the time and the Christian society coexisted in this city. In turn, this model is made up of two separate modules equipped with wheels and its own damping system designed by me for transport.
It consists of more than two hundred figures painted in oil, like all the buildings, it is currently located in the Museum of the Reconquest in the city of Orihuela (Alicante)-Spain, as it has been my wish and that of my family to donate it to the city.

Thank you all so much for your generous words.
It has been five years with a daily average of 10 hours of work, logically there were moments of illness, work, vacations, etc. that were not fulfilled and that later had to be recovered. This work was not commissioned, simply a work of gratitude to my wife's land. I was born in Madrid but for work reasons more than 20 years ago I ended up residing in the town of Orihuela (Alicante), tell you that Orihuela is the city where the poet D. Miguel Hernandez (the poet-pastor) was born. And that was the reason for carrying out this work that I have paid for in its entirety out of my pocket that has run dry, hahaha:joyful:

Now I have started another project, not so big but very important, based on the Dora Canyon, of which I will be posting photographs. Right now I am assembling vehicles, locomotives, figures at full speedo_O

Totally amazing and what an epic piece built and presented to perfection and out there in the Museum where it will be on view to thousands of people for many years to come, I can remember as a child seeing museum displays of castles and battlefields etc and no doubt that's where my passion with military modelling started, but your labour of love is far beyond anything that I have ever seen and will be a source of inspiration to many, well done.
TERRY
