Hello Pfer's (Planetfigurer's)
Thought I'd share a couple of the Home Guard Series busts of mine that I haven't had the opportunity to paint before. These are commissions I've taken on, I hope when they're done the customers are happy. Always a little stressed when doing this, as people pay their hard earned.
I've primed then blocked in the main colours of the uniform with airbrushing using various amounts of Jo Sonja brand acrylic paint in Olive Green and Vallejo Mahogany Brown. I do a mix to break up the individual uniforms, some a little heavier with the olive green, others a little more Mahogany Brown.
Once that's been done, I go to the face, again using pretty much Vallejo paints. Beige Red as the base, I then do the eye's, using the YouTube video from 'Last Cavalry TV' Dave Youngquest (hope I got his name right). With a little variation here and there, but it's helped me immensely over the last few year's.
Next I'll be onto the uniforms again. Would like to have a crack at trying to paint the texture of the wool uniforms, any suggestions on how, I'm all ears.
Thanks for looking.
