A lovely pair & am sure you’re remaining ones will be a well done Nigel.
Really seeing growth in your skills with these too mate!
What are you most happy with them?

Thanks very much Kim, Ski, Simon, Neil, Malkie, Kev, Adrian and Mike. The encouragement is very helpful as always.

No issues with the painting of this pair, only thing I can see is the first fellas hand is missing😉.
I knew there was something missing.... 😁 . Fortunately it's attached to the sleeve of the guy walking in front.....

Thanks Mike, that's much appreciated. I feel like I am making progress, I think my flesh tones are improving and I'm getting more comfortable with acrylics in terms of glazing and blending.

The big thing I am struggling with is contrast. I've been trying to get a bit more contrast in my figures but I find when I try to push the "top" highlight too much I am ending up with white stripes on the figure. Steve Ski made some interesting points on another thread about "realistic" vs "high contrast" approaches and I think I my style is more suited to a "realistic" approach.

BTW your book is never far from my side 😉 Although I can't replicate your approach, I find the colour mixes very helpful and also there is tons of useful information in there.
