hello Planeteers, here are some pics of the growing batallion, i added six grenadiers and 4 chasseurs and one grenadier drummer, the fusiliers are at a 90% completion, the chasseurs and grenadier have only been basecoated and only one light has been applied to their coats for now, still waiting on the colonel and regimental flags.
Regards

They look great all together. A question, Daniel, I see you have painted in different whites the trousers(pure white) and the coats ( a bit ocher).

Military miniatures painted by Eduardo Garcia

Hi Eduardo, the Fusiliers i've paint them in a lighter grey than the grenadiers, i added first light stone grey, second light deck tan and last light white, so it will give the impression is a whiter white.
that is exactly what i want to achieve, the coats in "warmer" white , the trousers and vest in " colder" white.
If you take a close look at the grenadiers, the pants and vest wore painted in a darker shade of grey, by the time i paint the last light it will no need shadows. The coats are spray painted with primer/color skeleton bone, which is a sand color, then used the "dipping" technique with the army painter strong quickshade , then applied first lights only in a mix of light sand and buff, still need the strongest highlight which it will bring the coat a little more white and will kinda blend altogether like the regiment of touraine i did.
I always try to make the garments a little different from eachother.
Regards

Man, they look great together! Impressive!
Daniel, this will look fantastic when it is done. I can picture already the "movement" of the unit with the flags in the wind... Great stuff!
Cheers mate,
Zeno

They look great!!! Of course the face needs final touches as you said, but the rest is great!

Regards
Pedro

Thanks Pedro!
The fusilier faces have been painted shadows only, i need to piant the lights , the grenadiers and chasseurs need the entire faces to be shadowed and lighted, lots of work when you think about the number of figures :arghh:

Thanksy friend, sometimes i spend a great deal of time picturing how this is going to look when is finally done, i will probably have the flags in 2 weeks and by then this troopers will be ready.
Yesterday i bought 4 wood panels of 16" x 20" , so i will make each square separate with troops but when i closed in together it will look like a good size diorama, the hard part will be making the "unions" between the squares not to be noticeable and give the impression they are part of the same ground.
Challenging i know, but very excited about this project.
thanks for passing by and looking forward to see some of your stuff soon.
Regards

Today i decided to start working on the bases for the diorama.
I wanted to start at least on of the squares and attach the Touraine chasseurs.
There is a still lot of work on the grounds but this is just to ley down the basics in one of the 4 squares.
I will blend the base of the troopers with the ground at a later time, so it will looka as natural as possible.

Good stuff, Daniel!
Slowly, slowly we can see light at the end of the tunnel!
Following closely! For sure you will have a second look to the tall grass. This is just preliminary, isn't it?
Cheers mate,
Zeno
