Got an unexpected break from work, so managed to get a bit of work done on the metals.
Have been looking forward to the metals, a good test for the airbrush and paints.
I have to say that I really like these 'Scale75' paints. I used their Metal n Alchemy (Steel) set for 95% of what you see. Just a bit of Vallejo mixed in for the first hi-lites, which were applied with a flat brush for ease of application.
Will give it a mist coat of 'Klear' when it has all had a chance to settle (dry) then go back and do some washes and the final hi-lites.
As always, let me know your thoughts and suggestions please.

What is a mist coat of clear Ron C
I know what a tray of clear represents in Greenock :)

Many thanks for your kind comments Dekiman. I am so pleased you have managed to get something helpful out of this SBS.
Planet is a sharing community. It's how we all learn and, doing an SBS like this, is giving a little back of what I have gained from the forum.

Regards

Ron

Morning Grant, thanks mate. Great to have you on board.
Have fun with the Iwata. Whilst the AB can never replace the good old brushes, I hope I have begun to show that it has a valid place as a tool in the figure arena.

Cheers

Ron

Hello Mr T, as Taff (Chris) has kindly explained, 'Klear' is indeed floor polish. It has been used as a sealer in the figure/modelling arena for many years.
You can apply it by brush or AB (neat..no thinners needed). Depending on how many coats you give it, it will go from matt, to a deep shine. Hence the 'mist' coat refers to a thin coat to seal between layers.
Just be aware....you need the original formula....not the 'modern' replacement. It is widely available on e-bay but, for how long no body can say. A 1 ltr bottle is all you would ever need tho.

Cheers

Hmm! Ron! .. I need to be clear on a few things ! So far you use 'Make-up', brushes ! Brushes for painting finger-nails! ..and now 'Floor-Cleaner'. ... I am eagerly awaiting to see what you do with a bit of, 'Lippy'. a proper domestic 'God',...

Have now been back and worked the final hi-lites into the torso and sleeve armour, and re-done the neck metals. Will leave these areas alone until he is fully assembled before deciding if they need any more work.

Next I will re-work the shoulder plates to increase the contrast, then I will move onto the fur.
