Having let things settle over night, I went back and increased the contrast.
Then I applied a few selective hi-lites with a brush, and gave hime 'Rheumy' (dead) eyes.
Put some colour into and around the mouth. Finished it of with a coat of 'Klear' and will now move on to the fur and metal, as well as the small area of his shirt. Once these areas are done, it will give me a better idea of whether the head/face needs any more work.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcomed.

Ron

Ron,
If .. ? I happen to pass, 'Wind', (Really loudly), whilst my eyes are popping out of there, 'veritable', sockets , Please take it as a compliment. :D

Regards,

Mark

Really nice (if that's the right term) look to his flesh Ron I reckon it might need lightening once you've got the other colours on to make it "pop" a bit more
Steve

Hi Steve, thanks for that. As I said, I want to get the surrounding areas/colours in place before I do any more to the head/face.

Cheers

Ron

Hi Ron,
Thanks for the earlier breakdown mate.(y) The effect you have achieved so far is brilliant, I am well impressed. Is this one of the techniques used in the film industry special effects??? Following impatiently.;)
cheers
Richie

Hi Richie, if your impressed, I must be doing something right mate ;)
Glad the info was of use to you.
Airbrushing has been a part of the film industry for so long now, it's taken for granted as just another tool.
Hardest part for me, was adjusting my 2D training, to suit 3D objects. On top of that, the transition from oils too acrylics is taking me a while to work out.

About time you gave us an update on your master work mate :wideyed:

Cheers

Ron

Already Open Box reviews were excellent, and here's a great start to this beautiful bust. Progress looks great, I look forward to continuing. Do it!(y)

Cheers Borek

Back on shift tomorrow  so last update for a week.
Fur is 90% done, with the hide below it just needing a coat of 'Klear' to give it a slight sheen.
Have done the metal around his neck, and the small area of undershirt that shows between his neck and the mail.
Will have to re-do his eyes as not happy with them at all.
Let me know your thoughts and any suggestions.

Hi Ron,
Now you draw particular attention to the eyes I tend to agree! for such a domineering character that ouses menace I don't think the eyes are piercing enough. What about a blinded look in one eye and the other really piercing? Not my sort of area really to comment, it may have something to do with the background when photographed as the previous ones looked darker toned, would be interested in what others might think. As for the rest it looks :cool:  (y).

Sorry mate chimps don't have much vision when it's comes to fantasy stuff, but I am enjoying this and learning loads.
cheers
Richie;)

Hi Richie....I like your idea of one 'dead' and the other piercing (y)....strangely, considering the overall size of the piece, the eyes are very small :wideyed:
Mate, your opinion counts for a lot with me. Even tho fantasy has a wide spectrum of choices for colours and effects, some things have to remain 'real', eyes especially.
Glad you like him and are enjoying it. Even better if it is helping you.

Got an unexpected break from work, so managed to get a bit of work done on the metals.
Have been looking forward to the metals, a good test for the airbrush and paints.
I have to say that I really like these 'Scale75' paints. I used their Metal n Alchemy (Steel) set for 95% of what you see. Just a bit of Vallejo mixed in for the first hi-lites, which were applied with a flat brush for ease of application.
Will give it a mist coat of 'Klear' when it has all had a chance to settle (dry) then go back and do some washes and the final hi-lites.
As always, let me know your thoughts and suggestions please.
