Hello folks,
Finished this Swiss officer in French service.
The Regiment de Salis samade originally was created under the Name of Stoppa viex in 1672, changed names several times until 1782 when was renamed Salis Samade and kept that title until the rename of the French Regiments at the beginning of the Revolutionary period in 1791.
These regiment had the unfortunate luck of guarding the Bastille at the time of the storming of it, with 33 grenadiers, officer and other guards and staff.
in 1786 , their uniform was the traditional red of the swiss Regiments in French service with lemon yellow lapels, cuffs and white trim at the cuff sleeves and horizontal pockets.
white metal buttons.
