That will be the key to success for the piece. To the extent it conveys a regrowth ..the post, post apocalypse ..it will really be special..

I honestly believe it will fall flat if I don't get this aspect right....there are many things other than amount to consider....colour....size....age....type (species) etc. etc.
It's all about the 'story'....and the base is the foundation of that.

Isn't funny how we all try to seem so smart and technical, when in reality, an ankle monitor never stopped me from being an ass...……………………………………………………………….:D

I admit to wondering myself....it will be a difficult balancing act for sure ....but looking forward to the challenge :nailbiting:

I guess the call is do you go realistic, fantastic or a combination of both. You can't beat nettles for a bit of height as well as their remarkable powers of recovery. If yo feel the need for a splash of colour the purples of the Buddleia might fit the bill. It's invasive and tough as old boots . Dandelions could also work.

I think that to try and categorise....i.e. real or fantasy....is lost on plants/vegetation at model scales....what I just want to do is create an illusion of my 'nature reclaiming it's own' synopsis.
Personally....with model bases...I think the best you can get is 'seasonal'.
At the end of the day...it's fun to do....and makes a world of difference to any piece.

Sorry if that's too technical Wayne :p

Whilst waiting for some stuff to arrive I carried on with the main base.
I have now fixed it to it's plinth...and started blending it in with some grass and fauna on the surrounding area....followed with some washes etc.
First an overview of the whole base and plinth.

With this done...and the rest of the bits I was waiting for having arrived...I can now return to completing the head and hand.

to be continued.........
