Hi to one and all

To give me a break from WW1 kharki I have been working on these 1/15th scale busts from Nemrod ( available via Historex )

These are not bad sculpts work needed to just tidy things up slightly ( some have the belts missing from the rear but easy to add on , the eyes are sometimes a little awkward to get at !!

The aim is to paint and display all together on one base

They also do Napoleonic which I have some of these as you can see !!!...diversity and fun are the keywords ....

Left to Right: Annamite ( Chinese ) Tirailleur, Dragoon , Senegalese Tirailleur

Note Dragoon is WIP , will be a trumpeter with red helmet "tail" others are finished !!!

These are just base coated

Left to Right: Tunisian Spahi, Almoner (Priest) , Alpine Chasseur

Note: The priest originally had a Adrian helmet on

My references are Officers and Soldiers of French Army 1914 and 1918 ( 2 volumes # 11 and 12 ) from Histoire & Collections both by Andre Jouineau

They also as said have Napoleonic

here are 3 one base coated , the others primed

Left to Right: Page to the Emperor , Ordnance Officer , Surgeon

Again using H & C books as references

Saw these in the flesh (well resin) at the Salisbury show recently and they must be the best value busts around - great for 'having a go' at something different (I was going to say dipping your toe in the water, but didn't seem appropriate what with the lack of legs and all!)
Anyway got to be worth picking up even if you are only vaguely interested in . . . .

Paintings are coming along nicely too Kev - going to look impressive all based up as a group

I saw some of them at Salisbury and, if memory serves me correctly, you were painting the hat of the Annamite (Chinese) Tirailleur.

Hi Folks

Couple of quick iPad pics

The Dragoon is finished ..painted as a trumpeter , lacework added on collar and helmet tail red .

Now the Spahis

Now the 2 new ones together

And all 4 completed together

Next in line is this ...a Algerian Tirailleur ( added the sash and redone the chechia tassel )

then it will be this



Still to go ...the French infantryman , legionnaire and the priest last


I must say those are a great way of getting the mojo back ....and I am enjoying the painting sure they aren't perfect but will look good all painted up and they have lots of conversion potential as well

A quick update on the Algerian

Revisited the uniform , sash and headwear all done

Lacework highlighted etc though might push this a little more

Need to tidy a few area's before today's soiree at the bench where the hat tassel in in line for a brush
