WIP Couple of Indian Army pieces

Hi Guys

I also have these on the bench ....so will be working on them as and when I can

Both busts..obviously !

One from Model Cellar called " Soldier of the Raj " the other a 5th Bengal Lancer from Hawk Miniatures , sculpted by Rob Lane of Elan13 fame

While I am here a BIG thanks to both Paul at MC and Rob at Elan13 for continuing to support our feature FOTM

Both have been cleaned up ..not that there was much to do on either

What I did do was using the MC bust make a cast of the rank badges using Milliput and pressing magisculpt into it when dry then hen I had released ( used Vaseline prior this was then added to the Hawk Miniatures one ..in addition to shoulder titles as used

Not all 6 worked out sonI made some as well ...painting will bring details out

I will do the Bengal first !

There certainly is and not as intricate as the Skinners ! .....and don't forget the medals ....

I have found a monocle so that will be added ...my mate Jimbo made some for me a while back

Couple of updates

Sorry for iffy pics ( Rob Lane has smudgyvision ...I have iffyvision .....other stations are available ..lol

The Raj ...removed the turban piece from back and reworked it in magi sculpt

Based coated the turban and uniform ..a lot of detail on the lacework which hopefully will come out more when I get going !!!

On to the 5th Lancer now

Base coated again ...for some insane reason I decided to add an additional medal !!!!

Working from this 3 from the left .....

Another great period picture ..not BL though ..just love it

...notice the monocle

All I will say is after 3 attempts I was reasonably happy.....matching as close as I could to Rob Lanes talent at sculpting

V1 V2 V3

V4 and final !!!

Painting will be used to bring the medals to life !!


Both are lovely sculpts And I hope I can do them credit
