Hi Jamie. Sorry, had a few problems with the PC, but sorted now. Thanks for the compliments, and thanks too to Celine and Matt at El Greco for getting an answer on here on my behalf whilst the PC was acting up :-) Adrian.

    The Basement

Hi Roy. Yeah , the show was great, good to see you there too. Shame it's only for two days - mind you, the strain on the wallet might be too much if it were any longer ! Best wishes Adrian

    The Basement

Just a head's up about the latest additions to The Basement. There is a feature with pictures from Euro Militaire coupled with some thoughts about the show and what work goes on behind the scenes. Several of our writers have gotten involved with this, and it's well worth a look. There's also a...

    My Bengal Lancer

A very good start to an ambitious project. As mentioned, it was one of Airfix's best figure kits, and that should help you when it comes to some of the detailed areas. If you meet with any problems that your Dad can't solve, then I'm sure the guys and gals here will offer help if you post a...

    Egyptian Mamluk 90mm resin

Thank youfor the apology Guy. I have no problem with people using the pictures off my site for reference, I do think though that it's polite to ask before using them to show a painted example in a review. It is only right that you ask before using other people's property. If the photos' are...

So you're not telling folk that you didn't ask if you could use them Guy. Tell the full story please. Adrian.

    Not so coloured

Hi Luca. This looks really good. I can't wait to get hold of this one and have a go at painting it. I like the B&W renditions, and also the alternative lighting direction you tried. Interesting ideas. Adrian.

    The Basement

Just a few words to bring to your notice the launch of a magazine devoted to figure modelling inside the Adrian Hopwood "Facts & Figures website. It's free to access, and features articles by several modellers well known within the hobby along with other sections for SBS's and reference...

Hi Quang. I'll just add my congratulations to those already written above. It looks a nice figure, and the groundwork ideas just started stomping around in my head as soon as I saw him. See you at Euro. Best wishes. Adrian

    painting light colours over dark

Hi, just thought I'd add my penny's worth. If you want to paint acrylcis over oils, then dilute the first coat of acrylics with Isopropyl Alcohol. This stops it beading on the oily surface. Then you can add subsequent coats of acrylics diluted with water. I'd agree though with what was said in...

    Adrian Hopwood's website

Thanks to one and all for the comments so far - please keep them coming. Gary mentions doing an SBS for Planetfigure, and when I've got time, and something that's not for an article in Military Modelling, then I'll certainly think about it. Then again, what would entice you to visit my website...

    Adrian Hopwood's website

Ok. Johan. next month when the site's updated I'll put an article on about one of the large scale figures - probably one of the female subjects, in all likelyhood it'll be the Godess in Alloy ( hey it's about the biggest model on the site at 24 inches ( 600mm ) tall. I'm not too sure about the...

Yeah, sorry, forgot to add the URL. It's http://www.adrianhopwood.co.uk either that, or just put my name into your search engine and it should come up with the site as the first hit. Adrian.
