Roman Centurian -The face

I finally got around to painting the head,it is not finished yet,it still needs a bit more highlight and a bit more shadows.

Base = Rembrant flesh ochre + windsor Newton Transparent Gold Ochre +
Rembrant burnt Sienna and a touch of Windsor blue to cool the mix .
medium shadow = Base + Mars Brown .
Dark shadows = Allizarin brown.
Extreme shadows = Sepia.

Medium Highlights = base + Naples Yellow.
extreme highlights = Naples yellow.

The mouth.
Burnt umber + magenta.

The teeth.
unbleached white with with a touch of Cadmium red.

Rose tones
Cadmium red + touch of Indian red mixed into medium shade mix.

Lips
Added more indian red to rose tones.

Hey Roc!

The face looks very nice and realistic. It will look a lot better once you add some more shadows and highlights. Keep us posted, it's going to be a great figure once it is all put together!

I apologize for forgetting to write down Titanium white in by base flesh.

After the face dries,I will add very extreme highlights and shadows.
I will brush linseed oil on the eyes to give them a sheen.

Looking great Roc! Even though I don't paint in oils I try to jot down mixtures when they're posted...just in case

Hey Jason,
I do the same thing you do,eventhough I don't use acrylics ,I always jot down techniques and color mixtures.
