Strips of soft metal attached - with some difficulty - as straps. Much trimming still to do.

That's t he most challenging thing about the ICM figures. They come with lots of lovely equipment but you have to work out how to attach it to the figure in a realistic manner. I found that tough in 1/35. But keep going, this will be very nice when done. And enjoy the US.

Yes the attachments aren't always the easiest but so much more realistic than cast on bits especially if your representing movement. Have a good trip.

Cheers Simon

Thanks gents.

I think young William Yankee is ready for priming at last.

Indeed they can be challenging.
The French infantry set comes with loads of extras, but attaching accoutrements is like a Mensa engineering exam.

Battlefield souvenirs.
As we - North Carolinian guide and myself - explore Gettysburg, I am collecting leaves from trees at significant locations.
This oak leaf came from near where Gen. John Reynolds was shot on 1 July.
It and the rest will be pressed in my copy of Stephen Sears' "Gettysburg".
(3 excellent beers tonight: the Americans have got their brewing act together, and no mistake.... hic!)

Welcome to the US! I hope you have a great time. Too bad you're not closer or we'd have a hike and the shoot some machine guns while the ribs are smoking. Enjoy your Gettysburg experience.

Steve
Thanks Steve
It's a trip of a lifetime. I'm thoroughly enjoying Gettysburg and looking forward to Antietam this week too.
(Black powder Gatling guns, I hope?)
