Having hit my head yesterday and sustained mild concussion, it was a relief to find that painting was if anything therapeutic.
So I have given the flesh some attention.
Not reflected particularly well represented by this crappy mobile phone photo.

And it’s wet & overcast. So the sun isn’t boiling and dazzling in here.
Time to prepare lunch.

Quite a challenging face to paint. The mouth was particularly difficult and I decided to stop and settle for it as-is.
Maybe should have painted the teeth white, but I'm always wary at this scale of making the figure look ridiculous by overdoing bright colours.
I'm not particularly happy with it, but can't do any more.
The sculpture is a tad uneven, but not bad.

Looking good David, re the teeth I would never do white or even off white in this scale but a light buff colour would look more in scale, well that's my take on this but it looks good as it is.

Good progress there. The detail on those "cheap" plastics continues to surprise me.

What to do about the mouth is an example of the persistent problems with figure painting; at scale distance you would not see the teeth on a real person, but the figure clearly has them so it looks odd not showing them.

Thanks for your feedback. I think the idea of a light buff colour makes sense for future examples.
The mouth will bug me for years to come, but it's all part of the learning process.

David, no worries about the teeth he probably had bad dental hygiene anyway!

In-between migraine-inducing efforts to sort my holiday out (tour and travel insurance company balls-ups), I have been painting the “Damned Yankee”.
Trousers got a couple of shadings along with rifle and beginnings of canteen strap
