Here is an old one from Beneito.

I think it is one of the better renditions of a real, historical individual.

Face is pretty much done but need to complete the cap, collar and of course the rest of him.

Comments and critiques are welcome. (I did notice the shiney beard ;) )

Keith, definitely a good rendition.
Good work so far, I like your skin tones, looking forward to seeing more.

Cheers
Roc.

Roc and Roger - Thanks!

Eduardo - I appreciate your comments. Yes. The fit of the head and arms is rather poor. And, there were alot of pin holes. I don't like doing clean up on figures so this was a challenge for me to even start it. I am working on another Beneito, 11th Zouave and it has the same issues. Both are intriguing pieces so I am going to keep on with them. :)

Hi Keith,
I know the vast majority of us start with the head and I tend to work downwards. Is there any particular reason why you have done his boots next?
No real reason for asking, I'm just curious how other people go about painting :)

Roger.

Roger- I usually go face and then top down just like you mentioned. I think I was waiting for something else to dry so I painted the acrylic base on the boots. ;)

Keith, Your figure looks good so far. It's amazing that with the technology available to manufacturers today that fit of parts can still be a problem sometimes.~Gary

Thank you, Pete. Good of you to comment.

Gary - The saving grace is that the face was in pretty good shape. That is what I like about this one when I first saw a version of it here on pF.

Great work with the face Keith.. It sets you up nicely for the rest of the figure. Keep up the good work.

John, Marc, Guy and Xenophon -

Thanks so much for the comments. They are appreciated!

Keith ,
Nice start , how did you doo the flesh , look forward to further posts especially when you do the coat , Benito figures are good but I too find they need a bit of work before the paintbrush is in hand ..keep at it , its going to look great with your talent .

Regards Kev
