Here my latest sculpture of a Celtic warrior. It´s a 54mm figure sculpted using Magic Sculp and Duro. The head was a spare part the rest are pegaso items. It was an exercise in sculpting the human body anatomy. The pose I took from an Osprey issue but isn´t very original. It looks quiet similar to some of the available figures. Instead of a sword I used an axe for his raised hand.
In the end I had more problems sculpting the trousers than the muscle parts. It´s not completely finished. I still need to add some details like the thumb on the right hand, a pigtail and some straps for the sword before it´s going to be painted.
Thanks for looking and all comments and critiques are welcome!

Cheers,
Marcel.

Amazing sculpting,Marcel.
It's wonderful muscle beauty.
If I fight against him in the field, I'd be killed in 10 seconds.
I congratulate completion.

Looking good Marcel, like the muscle tones and the way you have handled the folds in the trousers, get thoes brushes out now (y)

Cheers

A bruising warrior and I agree with Hikaru...not much chance against this fellow.
Beautiful torso and I just can't imagine how this is all done in 54mm...you must have the great eyes, still.

Long time no see Marcel:)
Beautiful done, hoping to see it done soon.(y)

Marcel great job on this one and your sculpting skill is coming along in leeps and bounds now, one thing i know for sure once it has been painted by yourself it will look stunning. I think the trousers came out very nicely in the end, i like the baginess of them.

Take care mate,

Steve(y)

Gordy, Mitsutaka, Mike, Tommi, Phil, David, Pedro, Ken, Steve, Janne, Serkan, Andreas, Mark, Gino, Barrie and Mike Thanks a lot for the compliments and comments!

Gordy: I hope I didn´t loose my painting skills.

Phil: I´m now working on a 1/35 and it´s even more tiny. But an optivisor is always a great help.

Pedro: With two kids modelling is very limited for me. And now that I´m sculpting my own figures it takes twice as long.

Steve: After several attempts I think the trousers looks OK now. I hope I can do a decent job on the painting.

Janne: I agree on the muscle part but it was too much fun to do. I couldn´t resist.

Cheers,
Marcel.

Hi Marcel,

I really like your work on this piece! Impressive bit of modelling.
Looking forward to your painting of it.

Cheers,
Adrian

Nice sculpting, very good pose, fairly well details. But there is only one incomprehensible moment in the one: where did you see such Celtic war-axe, and the others Celtic war-axes in general?

Adrian, Jose and Gennady many thanks for the compliments!

Gennady: It was difficult to find good reference of a Celtic battle axe. In the end I found some similar axe via google but I don´t know if it´s historically correct.

Cheers,
Marcel.

Yes of course, to find Celtic war-axes it’s extremely difficult matter, because archaeology didn’t knows the ones. :)
There was no such weaponry in the Ancient Celts warriors` panoply. Those war-axes, - which you have found, – were exactly Celtic? It’s extremely doubtful.
And the figure is nice!
Cheers.
