I finally have finished this project. It was my biggest challenge until now. The first time I sculpted a horse rider and the first time I painted a horse.

It's a 54mm figure sculpted using Magic Sculp and Duro. The horse was mainly a resin copy and some details from historex. The paint was done using acrylis. The horse main parts were painted using an airbrush (also my first time).
Thanks for looking and all comments and critiques are welcome!

Cheers,
Marcel.

I have been waiting to see this piece completed Marcel and you have not disappointed with the end result, excellent job on the sculpting and as usual a great job of the painting, a great looking figure mate.

All the best

Steve

excellent work both sculpting and painting, I particularly like the stance of the horse the only thing I am not so keen on is the horse's tail which doesn't seem to hang quite right

Marcel, excellent sculpting and painting, it's been an interesting thread to follow and the end result looks amazing. Congrats.
Cheers Ken

I really like this figure Marcel, you've done a very nice work in every way, I especially like the face of Von Zieten. I wish to be marketed because I would like to paint it for my collection. The paint job is impeccable. But I must say, I see a slight disproportion between the rider and the horse, compared with the man I see the animal a little small, if I analyze it carefully. What do you think?;)

Thanks a lot for commenting and the compliments Roger, Stralis, Peter, Noel, Ronald, Jan Willem, Steve, Dim, Pedro, Peter, Davide, Ken, David, Mike, Patrick, Meizi, Eduardo.

Peter M: The tail I would have probably done different now, like many other things. :D

Mike: I used mainly Vallejo model color, also with the airbrush. And some citadel for the metals.

Eduardo: Sorry this is a one off. About the horse. There are some natural variations in horse sizes, depending on the horse race. And as I understood also the smaller horses were used. This horse is a bit smaller compared to most napoleonic horses normally seen in miniature.
The template for my horse and figure is similar to the one that is also sometimes used by Andrea Iotti.

I also attached a photo that I found in a magazine from Andrea Press.

Cheers,
Marcel.
