Hi Guys,

Thought I would post this nice little bust I have had in and out and off and on my bench , the Paul Blaber Miniatures , slightly reworked by my ever cuddly mate Jimbo (Bandolier put on , glengarry taken back as I felt it overhanged the forehead a bit too much)...no legs added though!!!:whistle:

Pics not the best (been taking ones fro future reviews!!!....all day!!) but you should get the gist of it and it looks better in the flesh!!! .

An enjoyable paint even found out that there was a guy with my name who served in the Staffordshire Regt(80th) a Joseph Peart Regimental Number 2852!!!

Have a look at Paul's stuff some good busts ..and very reasonable as well in the coin of the realm department

Kev, looks well, I like this one.

Just one small point though, I'm pretty sure that by 1898/1900, the mounted infantry (infantry in general) had started to wear a blue forage cap, similar in shape to the khaki one worn in WW2. The glengarry was more Zulu war era, although I stand to be corrected!!

Thanks for the comment, ref cap , the actual paint/ conversion is based on an article in the early Military Illustrated magazine which shows the glengarry being worn .

I might have got the date slightly wrong but not by too much!!

Will try and find the magazine !
