I have finally got to a stage where I'm willing to post some pics of my first real attempt at sculpting something. I've been waiting for a manufacturer to produce this but none of the lazy dogs have done it so I thought I'd give it a go. It's going to be this sort of pose (but taller and better looking) with more medals putting him around 2006 just before the Scottish Battalions were merged to form one big "super Regiment", the Royal Regiment of Scotland.
There are a few guys on here that I will be looking to for help and I am using a superb head from Reedees for scale but I will be doing a head of my own. My plan is to cast limbs etc separately to give myself a collection of multi-pose bits to do other figures, if this works out. Any help, criticism is appreciated. Thanks,
Scotty.

I'll try that again, I'm going between my tablet and my laptop which is as slow as a week in jail! Thanks though, it is something I've been working on for a while more off than on but it's a labor of love like your own project.

It is, but the sculpt will be scaled to about 5' 10" ish. It seemed easier. I've other pics to put up at some point tomorrow, I'm having computer difficulties. That will be the point I start asking for help.
Cheers,
Scotty.

As you know Mate I like these Highlanders and looking forward to your SBS on this fine fellow.
I am very impressed with the idea of multi pose limbs.
You have made a superb start on this difficult subject and as you know this subject inside out I feel something very special will be on it's way.
Good luck Scotty,
Keith

ps. If I can help you at all don't hesitate to give me a shout.

Thanks Oda, I've got high hopes for this so if I can get near where I want I'll be happy. Keith you were one of the guys I intended to call on due to your excellent work adding to busts.
Thanks for the encouragement, I'll need all the help I can get!
Scotty.

I'm looking forward to seeing how you get on with this one Scotty, and picking up some tips along the way too :)

Good luck buddy (y)

Edit: also curious to know what you're doing with your hands behind that sporran ;)

Cheers Eludia...edit...Re the sporran, it's a common way to stand at rest, there are no pockets to put my hands in. I am in no way "touching" myself, the smile is coincidental

Stretching it mate...if that was true, you would be the only man in the Batallion who wasn't smiling that the hip flask hadnae fell oot...an' wi' plenty still in.

Looks great so far.
