I’ve decided to try and emulate the efforts of messrs Nap and Geoff Charman and try working on multiple offerings at one go. As a result I’ve made a start on the following three busts from Gordon Mitchell and Mitches Military Miniatures, namely their US Paratrooper with 30 cal, Sgt of 95th Foot and an officer of French Cuirassiers from the Napoleonic era. It’s early days yet but I’ve done the faces save for the hair and started blocking in the main colours on the Cuirassier. Paints are oils over enamels/acrylics.
I’ve really taken a liking to this figure type after predominantly concentrating on full figures for most of my time in the hobby.

Thanks Nap. Not sure I could manage 9 on the go at one time, I thought 3 was pushing it.

I've turned the pics to get a better look at the face painting technique Neal. Looks great!
I started the cuirassier but got stuck on the breastplate and helmet so will look on with interest.
Cheers
Gordon
Thanks for sorting the pictures Gordon and the comments.

Faces look great Neal! I can paint multiple figures at the same time but they are usually part of a vignette or at least from the same period otherwise the large color palette drives me crazy. o_O :)

Looking forward to seeing more.
Cheers,
Ken
Thanks Ken.

Great start, as for working on multiple figures I find it benefits my work as it stops you getting blocks or over thinking your subject.

Much appreciated Malc. I can see what you mean and in some respects, especially if working in oils as I do it gives the opportunity to work on different bits of several pieces whilst the others are drying.
