    Usmc bust wip

Hi Guys, Here's a WIP of the Iwo Jima USMC bust. It's in oils, the face is done and his shirt is almost complete as well. I still have to simulate the "herringbone" pattern of the fabric and add sweat stains. As you can see, I sculpted a more substantial "podium", "pole", whatever to display...

    Carynx (war trumpet)

Hi Carl, It looks good, you could try a LITTLE bit of a burnt sienna oil wash for shading and make the wash really thin. what's cool if it doesn't look right you can wpe it right off before it dries.

Ceasar Avgustvs Maximus - Alias SuperManivs - Figuralia Review

Hi Guys, Mine is on the way. This is a "must have" not only for comic book fans but for folks that do busts. For those of you not familiar with the term "Elseworlds" it is used by DC Comics to denote a story using an established DC personality and plunking him/her into a completely different...

    Jack Aubrey bust WIP

Hi Jason, I'm only echoing what everyone else has said... Great! I just primed mine and will more than likely go with oils throughout. I like to use W&N Blue-Black for my dark blues and will let it almost dry before I bring in the Permalba white for the highlights using Dorlans. Your beige is...

    Stop the Presses!!

Gary, I have been doing business with Mike before there was a Michael-Roberts Ltd and have always held him in high esteem and have always had great admiration for his products. I merely wanted clarification of his first post. I was NOT implying that there was anything untoward in the offing I...

    A Study in Green!

Hi Jay, Here's the poster that the Spectre bust was based on, just click the link below. Ross renerdered his skin almost a ghostly white. Hey, it's a comic book character! So there's all sorts of variations. Ric http://images.wikia.com/marvel_dc/images/4/44/SPECTRE-2-.jpg

    A Study in Green!

Hi Jay, First of all, you did a great job on the figure! Especially for not knowing much about the character. Your friend does a disservice to the character by saying he is a "fallen Green Lantern". The Spectre has been around since the early 40's. He is the spirit of murdered police detective...

    Andrea Miniatures New Releases

Love the gunslinger AND the bannister babe! Kevin, I think you mean Jack PALANCE of "SHANE". Jack Cassidy (David Cassidy's dad) was blond. He was a bad guy in the 1975 Clint Eastwood movie "THE EIGER SANCTION". Best! Ric

    Andrea New Releases

Actually, I think it's a pretty good likeness of Jimmy Stewart, sculpt-wise. The painting seems to not do the face justice. I plan on getting it as soon as it's released and I'll post a review. As for the legs - a thin layer of Magic-Sculpt or Aves should be abe to "beef them up" a bit - Not TOO...

    Da Man! / Figuralia/ Büste/ 1/6

Stephan, I agree with all you've said concerning Luca's high quality products. I also have a casting of "Da Man!" and it is stunning. His "The Bat" is equally impressive (I have that one too). Best! Ric

    Le Cimier Figures

I painted a number of Le Cimier figures back in the '80's, mostly the 90mm drummers. At that time they were exceptional figures and their 54mm figures were very nicely cast as well. I can't testify to their current quality, but, I the molds weren't prpoerly maintained then, of course the quality...

    The Bat (Red Son variant)

Luca- Also one of my favorite Elseworlds graphic novels. Great rendition. Superman from the same book would be a great subject too (Hint, Hint)! Keep those DC characters coming! Best! Ric
