    Completed 71st

This is all but finished now, still spurs to add to the boots and some fine detailing to the metals parts of the scabbard. The base will receive more detail and a slight dusting with pastels as a final touch. Thanks Steve Walks

Yes I think you are right Richard, it was made up of Historex parts but not actualy produced in that form by Historex. Ray Lamb did the major conversion work as a one of piece. Steve Walks

    andrea september releases

As always Calvin well explained, thank you. As I said these are just personal views on my part, I have the utmost respect for Ray Lamb and yourself in these regards. I understand your meaning of exact copying, if that was the case the hobby would be extremely boring...

    andrea september releases

Yes Calvin, Ray Lambs version is a classic but I personaly have always had a problem with two points. 1) The Cheetah hide saddle cloth is way to short at the rear, in the painting by Gericault this distance to the tail is much shorter. 2) The rider is positioned too vertical from...

    Painting acrylic faces

Hi John, welcome to the acrylic club. The link to Jaume's article is about as good as it gets for faces. The thing you will notice straight away is the intensity of the colours compared to oils. Everybody has their own favourites for colours and shades but the principles are basicly the same...

    Lack of response.

Although I have been with Planet fig for a while I only started posting a few months ago. I have to say the response was amazing, with pats on the back and very constructive criticism. If you put your figures up for appraisal you will get honest replies and critique, which is what I like about...
