Colin, I had no intention or intrest really in starting a flame war. Dont know what a "flame war" is actually. I had just got fed up, like a few members on here of the annual Save the Sable campaign. We have had it before with a very small responce, so how often do we need to hear about the...

    Yesterday and the Vets!

You must be very proud of your Dad Chris and I dont blame you. The school named after him must have pleased him no end. Did you get to meet any of the people rom the film? Tell your Dad there is a whole lot of people on Planet who thank him and all his mates for what they did. Don

    Yesterday and the Vets!

Mike I did see that and know the vets loved it, she was after all THEIR Queen. It was the rather useless politicians I was talking about, dont know what they were there for. The French President and Prime Minister were the only politicians who recognised and mixed with the old soldiers. Don

    Primer on Resin Problems...????

Almost always use car primer for resin, Halfords Grey and White. Never had a problem. Always scrub with an old toothbrush using dishwashing liquid. I have heard you can put enamels straight onto resin, after cleaning of course, but never been brave enough to try it. Don

Watched a wg=hole lot of the 70th Aniversary for there old heroes and it was wonderful. Completed Critique 'Convoy is to scatter'

Steve I had an Uncle who was in the water twice on the same trip. His first ship was set on fire and against all orders a tanker came slowly alongside and picked up the crew then carried on. Day or two later he was eating in the mess deck when that one was torpedoed and blew up. He said he woke...

Completed Critique 'Convoy is to scatter'

Had a few daya in bed since this started and its a cracker Steve. You finished him perfectly. While bedbound I was reading about an old WW 1 destroyer on the Murmansk run where the captain and the OOD were stuck on the bridge themselves for four days due to bad weather. Reading that I was...

Thanks Steve, Dad spent some 5 years on convoys, never saw his duffle coat then but got used to it over the years when he came home and we were both home at the same time. He even used his last Bridge duffle coat after he retired, walking the dog. A well used coat. Don
