    Figure Bases in North America

Hi all. I've been trying to search for figure bases here in North America as I understand Ken Thomas is now retired. I'm having no luck locating anyone. I tried The Hussar's facebook page and website as I read somewhere they might carry some. No mention that I could see though. With the exchange...

    "HUMAN SKULLS" by PF WORKS

Nicely sculpted! Is 30mm a common gaming size? I guess I'm just used to 54mm or 1/32 and 1/35 scales for the smaller figs. Thanks Gary D

Taking off oils to start over...

Hi Dee. If you go to Walmarts Automotive section, you can find a purple container of Engine Degreaser called "Super Clean". It is very good at taking off oil paints. You do need to soak the figures head though like the guys mention above. It just needs a wash of water to clean off the figures...

    gift

I think it came from the heart. If he wanted you to turn it into cash why didn't he pawn it off or sell it himself and just give you the cash. I think he wants you to have something to remember him and the good times by for many years to come. To be given a gift of something tangible that's...

    Morland Studios: Jewel Bust

Nice idea! It'll be interesting to see different methods of painting applied here. Perhaps a gallery on Morland Studio's website where we can see different customer works? Gary D

    Printer's Ink

I use ordinary thinner to thin them with. Some say the carrier in Humbrol paints is good too. Gary D

    Abteilung502

They've been around for a few years now. Used mostly on Armour and Aircraft models for weathering. Pigments may be courser than the fine ones found in Winsor Newton oils, so I don't know how they'd do for flesh tones. They may be o.k. for clothing etc. though. Gary D

    Rainy Mountain Charlie

Here's my version. Oils over Acrylics. The blanket isn't weathered as the title on the base reads "Fair Trade" implying he just traded something for the blanket. Thanks for looking! Gary D

    Advice on leather mixes please

Hi Geoff. Thanks for the mix. What base colour do you use before applying the oils? Is it an acrylic colour or straight onto primer? Thanks Gary
