    Pirated figures - your thoughts?

This has been discussed a thousand times, but ( frankly ) I kinda like pirate figures. Specially those with the parrot on the shoulder and the pegleg. I'd rather buy a pirate figure than another Templar or Roman. I just don't know where all this anti-pirate talk comes from!? True, they weren't...

    New Camera - Old Bust

It's amazing how a great camera can make a poor paint job look good!!!! ......okay....just kiddin' Rich. Nice shot! Control of the lighting is very nice. You're learning quick! You seem to have the same problem I have, Rich. My lens is round like yours but the pictures always come out square........

    Bust scale 200mm = 1/9 ?

I recall in my distant Past that a 54mm was measured from the bottom of the feet to the figure's eyes. Tradition holds true according to the company ( not all ). I'm working on a '54mm' Seil figure at the moment and out of curiosity measured it after reading this thread. It measured 54mm from...

    Question-Stuck oil tube caps

Rembrandt's Sepia is the worse! I tap it with a pair of heavy pliers a couple/three times being careful not to pound the cap into the tube. Then I threaten it. Then holding it at the upper reaches of the tube I gently use the pliers. I then threaten it some more by telling the tube I will use...

La Meridiana Miniatures - New release

Everything has to do with Time. An armored Huron simply ceased to exist when muskets showed their armor to have no practical value. Most native Indians wore armor at one time or another before gunpowder introduced them to sudden mortality. Fabrizio's work is a bit of an anachronism. His...

    Templars = Beard?

Templars were apart from Hospitalers and others. They had their own guide Rule. I'm not sure if the Rule applied to Templar Sargents ( The ones who wore black ...... ).

    Back pain while painting?

My back starts aching after 5 minutes. This is what happens when you're 67 and have lived a life of sin. But, in truth, it was worth it. :) I usually take an Aleve and shift the modestly priced orange crate I sit on and... ....Voila! I can crank out another half hour!

Roman Legionarius 1st Century - Young Min Review

Guy, the more you look at the photo the more it appears to be a gap near that eye. Looks as though the lower eyelid is incomplete. An arched eyebrow or a lowered eyebrow has no effect on the placement of the eyes. But I don't think a manufacturer would send you a poorly cast product for review...

Museum Director destroys diorama built by students

Pathetic. If I was one of the parents I'd plan on meeting him in Civil Court if I couldn't bring Criminal charges against him. This is where he gets his email. I expressed my feelings to him here: [email protected]

    Maurice Corry

Roc, I've been quiet about this since I've done no business with or even know the man. But the way I see it is this way. Planetfigure is a community of eclectic hobbiest who pay a considerable amount of money to appease their varied appetites. If there are grounds for legitimate complaints...

Why no decent WW2 Japanese solider Bust?

I'm glad I was able to resolve the issue for you Brock. Someone mentioned we went off on tangents. This is not true. Everything was kept on the straight and narrow to further the rationale for the lack of Imperial Japanese WW II busts. And no one hates countries or people ALL the time. The...

Why no decent WW2 Japanese solider Bust?

Sure I can explain it. A lot has to do with Race ( oh my god he's playing the Race card ) and the tribal nature we still have. Remember the Japanese were interred here, while those with German heritage roamed freely. As a an American of Polish ancestry I make a point of not painting SS...
