We remember all those who gave their lives in the pursuit of peace. Rememberance has no regard for race, religion or politics, it is sufficient that they stood side by side in time of need.
A subject that I really like, and the pose is so diifferent to the usual 'just about to loose' that we see.I like the hose down around the ankles too!. If this becomes a commercial release I may well be interested, love to paint it!
Reminds me of my daughter! When she was younger she'd go out in a smart skirt/blouse and hi-leg combat boots!!! I'd love to paint one of these figures - fantastic!
Beautiful piece Phil. Your sculpting has come on a long way since I painted your 'Jackson and the Dragoon' many years ago (and that was good!). The latest incarnation of the wolf is terrific.
Re: Gassed - Mustard casualties of the 55th West Lancashire
Excellent Dan. Very evocative piece as my great-grandfather was gassed, though he did survive he was ill until his death in the 1920s. I've always found these old photos very emotive and you've bought this one into 3D very well indeed.

For me it was more of an exercise in painting a different type of face~:
