It is time to start a new one, this time a bit unusual subject.
My good friend wanted a umbrella girl to put with his 1/12 Motogp scale model.
This is blocking phase (about one hour of work) but you can see a general idea-nothing special, simple contrapposto.
I hope I'll succeed ;)

Struggling with the proportions. Female body should be much more "soft" than male, and here I did not succeed to do that, but I hope that proportions are more or less OK (more aggressive blending process should soften it and make a bit thinner).
Also I think that the chest area is a bit over-sized:

The lower torso is coming along nicely. The upper trunk needs some adjustment if you want her to have more conventional proportions.

I'm a commercial illustrator and can give a bit of help here. This should give you an idea of the trimming needed:

I fully agree with the above suggestions to trim the upper torso, shes currently more bulky like a good ole german lady! hahaha :p

The adjustments slim her down nicely

I would also consider slimming the thighs more as they progress towards the knees, females tend not to have as thick a quadricep around the knee

Also you could thin the upper calf by the knee as well for the above reason

It sounds slightly sexist but average women appear to have more "feeble" joints than men, this is one way you can convey strength and sturdiness in a person as more muscle around a joint creates a stronger joint!

I really like what you are doing with this, will you be casting her as this is a much needed figure in the 1/12th scale bike world !! (y)

Do we get an umbrella also ?!! :)

Want one :D

Great work

If the sculpt turns well, I'll be casting it, if not, I'll repeat the whole process until it does ;)
Umbrella would be nice touch, but I'm afraid I do not know how to do such thin casting as opened umbrella requires. Maybe closed...
Any ideas ???

Much more thining (why did I put so much volume in the first place ???), and it is not over yet, cause I see much more volumes that will need reducing.
I have a question: how many figures I must do not to make such rough mistakes ? :)

Obviously she'll bulk out a bit again when you clothe her, but I'd say that you had the basic body about right. Curvaceous without being skinny.

I agree, I even liked it more that way but I did armature using pic of skinny umbrella girl, had the pic all the time during blocking phase, and yet somehow it turned more like renaissance model. That is the error I'm talking about.
Now she is more-or-less same dimensions as the girl on my armature map-I checked and rechecked-but it does not like a girl any more.
What I can't figure out is how to do curvature and female forms for this skinny figure. I hope I'll restore at least some of that curvature - cause this looks like a wooden plank to me...

For skinnier females that still have curves, they tend to have much softer and smaller bone structures and thus more "petite"... skinny girls dont generally have curves because its the fat/muscle that creates them hence why supermodels look like stickbugs :p

If you wanted to make this girl thinner in appearance you could reduce the massive of the torso further and soften the hips

Also, breast size does often reflect the size of the girl, if she's smaller it helps keep her appearing thinner, and if she has bigger breasts her rib cage should be much smaller to make the breasts appear bigger and her body smaller
