Thanks for the comments. The 'jagged' look on the pics is where the contrast was adjusted on PaintshopPro - I'm still learning on my new camera! This was orginally a 4MB TIFF file, so it's been greatly compressed and converted to JPEG before uploading, and that doesn't help the quality either.

Hi guys - after a week without internet access I can at last get back on the web again! This is one of my latest pieces. I wanted to maintain the sombre brooding appearance of the original, but using a different pallette. Painted in oils over acrylics.

When I made mine, I painted the face/hood in place on the figure, and the insides of the lower surcoat,arms and cloak off of the body. The outside of the cloak and hood were painted after assembly. The arms can be glued in place with the sword after all other work is complete.

Nowadays the NCO may wear the 'Service Cap', but in 1948 it was still wartime uniform, and the 'sidecap' was general wear - sorry if I've mislead you somewhere! I would definitely prefer the sidecap if it's not too much trouble. BTW - EVB didn't actually think much of this headgear - it tended...

Very nice Dan. I'm going to enjoy painting these two up for my wife. Only one problem - he should have the sidecap that was in the photos that I sent, not the officers type cap that you've made. When on the table this would look flat.

Great work Roc, the green is a bit dark to see the shading so far, but your work on the lace is exemplary.

I hope that the last two matches are played in the spirit of the Germany/Italy match, where the play flowed and both teams played the ball. Unfortunately the referee for the final is the same one as for the England/Portugal game.............

The knight with broken lance stands out as a great single figure, and the Black Prince would take months to paint - great work on these new releases from Seil.
