Favorite time of the day for figure painting.

Has to be morning, although only at the weekends! The light comes directly in through the window by the table I work at!

    Additional Andrea new Releases

I wouldn't mind a crack at the Templar - Ok, I've got a few already but this one would be a good opening for some changes to the colours & heraldry.

Like the war correspondent. Unusual subject, good pose too.

    Latorre - 79th Highlanders, Crimea 1854 at 54mm

Beatiful tartan, and the treatment of the scarlet coat is exemplary. My only nit-pick is that I think that the sporran should be a darker brown, with white tassels?

    Duke of Lombardy

Great paiting, the figure goes well with the base too.

    BUFALLO SOLDIER...

I envy everyone that can sculpt - especially when it looks this good!! The painting is good too, and sympathetic to the figure.

    Saxon in progress

I like your colour scheme. Lighter than the almost black scheme that we usually see.

Many thanks for the compliments - and I thought I hadn't done such a good job on this one!

    "Miles Christi" Pegaso Templar Finished

Great work Costas. The base is really appropriate to the figure, and sets off your paintwork beautifully.

    Pegaso 90mm Templar

Hi all. I've had this figure part built for a while now. I haven't changed my opinion of it - it's still one of the most haunting figures I've ever seen; I just had to have one. I found it hard to paint, most of it was done in sub-assemblies and the cloak, arms etc added and painted later. Not...

Wastphalian Guard Hussar - 200mm bust

Hi Roswitha The gold lace is an acrylic paint by Wargames Foundry - these come in packs - the gold has 'bronze' 'gold' and 'shiny' which gives the shadow, main & highlight colours. The brassy look on the metal parts is a 'brass' enamel by Plasticote which I found in a local cheapie shop...

    Australian Light Horse WW1

The pics are a bit small for proper critique, but I can see enough to want to paint this one myself.

Wastphalian Guard Hussar - 200mm bust

Thanks for the complimentary remarks guys. Ths one went so well from the start - the next one (Pegaso 90mm templar) is about to have the white stripped for the third time so I hope it ends up as good as this!

Thank you for the compliments Gentlemen. When artists of your calibre say that my painting is good, then I feel that it must be improving!

Wastphalian Guard Hussar - 200mm bust

Hi all, This is Verlinden's 200mm bust of a Westphalian Guard Hussar. As always, in oils over acrylics. First pics with the new camera - my daughter wanted the Minolta for her college course, so I now have a Pentax digital SLR - great improvement.

    Edward Victor Ball, 1918 - 1948

Looking good Dan. The older one especially is beginning to be recognisable according to Chrissie (EVBs daughter!)
